She is a 20-year-old from Wausau, Wisconsin, who grew up participating in scholarship pageants, is an advocate for clean energy sources, and was crowned Miss America for the 95th time on Thursday. She also received the $50,000 prize scholarship that went with the title.
She is a senior at UW-Madison pursuing a career as a nuclear engineer. She plans to continue her undergraduate degree after a year as Miss Wisconsin.
She began playing the piano when she was eight years old, and it became one of her passions. As a teenager, she demonstrated this skill during Miss America competitions.
